About Touchdown for Diabetes

Touchdown for Diabetes 2011 is the 15th year Cole Century Buick-Cadillac-GMC Truck has sponsored a fundraiser for diabetes! More than $1,300,000 has been raised for diabetes research and patient care over the years, and all proceeds now stay in the Greater Kalamazoo Area.

Each September, the Cole Century Cadillac, Buick, GMC Truck dealership floor and grounds are transformed for one evening, allowing guests to socialize, snack, and browse silent auction items they’re interested in.

Tailgate

A delicious tailgate dinner is furnished by Outback Steakhouse. In years past, steak and barbecued chicken were grilled on site, and dinner rolls, vegetable, potato salad, garden salad, and dessert were provided.

Tables and seating are set up to accommodate diners, both in the dealership and outdoors under canopies provided by United Rental.

A cash bar is available, via sponsor Imperial Beverage.

Prizes

Door prizes are awarded. Tickets for a 50/50 raffle are available via employee volunteers from Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Participants bid on silent auction items, donated by a wide variety of local businesses, throughout the night. Toward the end of the evening, attendees gather for brief comments offered by someone affected by diabetes, the fundraiser chairman, and a Borgess Diabetes Center representative.

The grand finale is the announcement of the Grand Prize winner of $20,000 cash!!

*Grand Prize reverts to a 50/50 drawing if all 500 raffle tickets are not sold. Maximum 50/50 prize cannot exceed Grand Prize in value and is determined by actual tickets sold. Raffle License # R05815.
